The SmartMicDiMini is easy-to-use, but here are a couple of tips that will assist you. #1) Make sure you plug in the microphone BEFORE you launch the video or audio recording app. If the app is already open, it's advisable to close the app completely and then re-launch it. Otherwise, the app will not know that you were using an external microphone. #2) Once you make a recording, you will need to remove the microphone before you can hear playback. This is because the phone's audio limitations, but it is very easy once you get the hang of it. I hope that helps.
