Yes, you will need to tune your FM to a specific frequency that matches what is being broadcast from the Scosche device in order for you to listen to music. Depending on the exact unit you are looking to purchase the Freq Out Pro is only for Bluetooth Audio, not for Hands free phone calls.

Your stereo doesn't have to stay on one channel, if you don't feel like listening to your connected device, you can switch to another station to listen to a normal radio station. You can also switch the station it's connected to easily.
