Does it charge the phone while using it? null

Yes, if you plug your phone into the usb charging port on the transmitter.

It sure does! Just plug it into your car, plug your car charger into it and off you go!

There is a USB plug on the device that you can connect a USB cord to and charge from it that way. Otherwise it would have to charge wirelessly which it is not going to do. Also there is an audio cord and plug that can be directly plugged into the car if you have one on your radio. This avoids station interference with the FM frequency you are broadcasting in and at times the cord is more reliable. Over long trips there is a tendency to run into other radio stations transmitting the same or similar frequency. I'm satisfied with the device and the blue tooth connection is solid. I will likely use it until I buy a newer car with a bluetooth radio.
