• I've put the magnet on either side of the case and it still held up very well for me.

• I drive Lyft...yes you would not want on the front of your phone. That would defeat purpose of using the mount.

• No it doesn’t matter the size of the magnet for the holder. Just matters where you put the magnet on your phone case for how it how it’ll fit on the holder.
