Does this use the vehicle's gps system to navigate? null

It doesn't navigate, only uses GPS to determine speed if you have an older, incompatible ODC.

The unit does not offer any navigation. It uses GPS for vehicle speed when it is not hooked up to the OBDll port.

No, it has it's own GPS. In GPS mode all you get is what it thinks your speed is. It works best of the ODM2 port.
