This drive is made for laptops. If so, you don't need a cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you want to use this as an external drive, you will need a cable. If you are installing it in a laptop, you don't need a cable. This is a pretty good cable that I picked up myself. It costs about $24. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/apricorn-data-transfer-cable/3459621.p?id=1218404120715&skuId=3459621&st=Apricorn%20Data%20Transfer%20cable&cp=1&lp=1
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most hard drives are retro-fitted the laptop by the manufacturer. Note that every laptop you buy has a hard drive that's branded with the laptop makers brand name. Like Seagate or Western digital. When you remove the existing hard drive you use what ever method they used to fit the hardrive and switch it out with this new hard drive and then install it. If the old one didn't need the cable your mentioning this this one shouldn't either. And no this isn't the function a cashier would provide. How would a cashier know what you're going to use the hard drive for....or what laptop you intend to install it into? They wouldn't.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did not need a cable at all. The old one popped out, this one popped in, done.
