I just bought this product today and installed it into my PS3 Slim in less than 5 minutes. This product is compatible with the PS3 and after researching, it actually fits the requirements to a T. The 5400 RPM is crucial to working effectively on the PS3 Slim as it has a lower revolution compared to the 7200. If you install a 7200 you run the risk of the PS3 Slim overheating and therefore damaging the equipment. Also since this product is backwards compatible it is read by the PS3 Slim without any hiccups. After installed my space now reads 828 GB. There are plenty of videos online you can view in order to help you with the installation and back-up/restore process. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. (It is on sale at the moment!)
