Dear Murray, This reply is from Seagate Support. We noticed your inquiry and wanted provide information about our Barracuda drive to you. While our Seagate Barracuda 3TB drive will work with most computers that support SATA 3gb/s connections, it would be best to contact Apple directly to verify that this drive will be compatible with your specific system as we would not have that information here. http://www.apple.com/support/ If you have any remaining questions or concerns, we would be happy to help using any of the support services we provide. Here is a web address with contact information should you wish to speak with a support representative directly: http://ow.ly/4NgEf Best Regards, Seagate Support

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The best answer I can give you on this since the iMAC has several models and they support various types of hard drives. The best solutionn for you would be to call Apple Support or visit the iMAC forum on the Apple website.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.not sure about "in" but it will take any partition you make it. I made mine MAC OS Extended Journaled. If you plan on replacing your internal MAC drive it might be beneficial to get Apple to do it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.iMacs do in fact utilize 3.5 hard drives. (17-24 inch as well as the 21-27 inch). If you have a 2009 and up iMac using a Hard drive in addition to a SSD, then there is a spot for both a 3.5 inch drive and a 2.5 inch drive. Macbooks and the Macminis use 2.5 inch drives.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This drive is too large in size to be used in the 'iMac" line of Apple products. It does however work in any standard desktop PC/Mac with a 3.5" drive bay.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. I think the ones inside the iMac are the same as the laptop sized disks, which are a lot smaller (and more expensive). They work fine in the Mac Pro Desktops, though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
