I store all my games on one of these 3 TB drives. These drives are fast and reliable. I've never had any problems or performance issues using these drives for gaming.

Please try again later.With really high capacity drives you have to factor in that it will get sluggish as you start to fill the drive and that might not be best for gaming. Personally I have a 3TB I use to save everything on (Music, Photos, Videos) and I use my primary 1TB drive for OS, Software, games. You're on the right track though 7200RPM+ is that way to go for HDD speed with gaming.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would personally say yes. I put this drive in my gaming rig and I always keep some kind of resource monitor running so that I can see how my system is performing. This hard drive never goes above 35-40% and that is on a HUGE load.

I would also purchase an SSD along with the HDD. As installing the game on an SSD is said to run smoother and faster. I did not buy an SSD and bought the Seagate 3TB HDD and use it to game and video edit. I find it great!

Of course you do want a good hard drive that has plenty of disc space for the gaming programs to start with. I also reccommend a HD monitor for gaming. The barracuda is a great drive and I have 2 of them in one of my gaming computers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.While it would be fine as a primary drive (good read/write speeds, etc) drives this big are usually used as a secondary storage drive. For the best gaming (and general) performance you should look at a smaller SSD. They aren't as large for the same cost, but the read/write speeds are insanely fast and they have no moving parts to fail.
