- Answer Yes and No. You could void the warranty and pry it out of the case... but it would be a better solution to by a new hdd and use it as the replacement.

QuestionFormat to XFAT so a MAC can save to this EXHD?How Can this model be re-formatted to XFAT to enable it to save files from multiple MAC laptops? One of the "reviewsers" wrote that is what they had to do to use at different schools with different IT restrictions. Plus the reviewer did not want to down "useless software" and bloat their Mac laptop.

- Answer This is done via OSX. Goto utilities>disk utility Select the external drive and reformat with whatever setting you desire... When it's finished it should mount with no issues.

- Answer I know iDrive is a self powered backup storage drive with wi-fi capability. It might work for your case.

QuestionWhat am I doing wrong. The backup plus slim will not go to the registration page so it is unusable.I brought home Backup Plus as recommended by Best Buy to transfer data from old computer to my new computer. I plugged it into a USB port and then double clicked computer. It shows up as H drive and the setup file icon is there. When I click on it I get a warning that says Seagate Registration Server is unreachable. Please try later. Any suggestions as to why this is occuring and how to work around it?

- Answer What I did was immediately format the hard drive in Windows, Right-click, format, and whatever settings are there should be the right ones. What formatting does it let you use it just as a HDD, with no extra programs or fuss.
