Lighted Indicator Can someone please tell me if there is a "light" that would indicate a back up is being performed. I have a La Cie with a blinking light that tells me a back up is in progress.

Yes. There is a white light that flashes when the drive is being accessed in the upper left hand corner. You can see it in the photo unlit. It flashes just like your HD light on your tower or laptop when it is accessed.

To my knowledge the light should be on when it is connected to your computer and backing up files. It is a very small / thin light on the top. I sometimes have to disconnect and re-connect it a couple of times before the light comes on.

Most drives have a light indicator that blinks when the drive is in use.

The only light activity I have noticed on this device is the blue light indicating the device is connected and transferring data with a USB 3.0 connection, or white light with a USB 2.0 connection.
