• Yes! I just used on my Dell Inspiron 1501 XP and Dell N5010 Windows7, both laptops with 2.0 USB'S! I had no problems and easy to use!

• Your XP system should see it as just another drive. You should be able to copy files to it just like you might copy them from one internal drive to or flash(thumb) drive.

• Yes. It should work fine on both. Both XP and newer versions of Windows use the same file format system.

• I have this Seagate Backup & YES, you can backup & save any files from any computer system. Just make sure you don't have more than 2TB of files. If you have more get a higher TB with extra space.
