• Most of the time this will work with being connected to a router. That is if the router is designed for an external drive. Some configuration may be required. Please review the documentation that came with your router or look the documentation up online if you do not still have the original docs.

• This depends on your router. If your router supports an external USB drive and will push enough power to the USB port to power this drive, then this drive will work fine.

• Yes, if yur router supports network storage and its not service port for the router. you may have to reformat it and clean it and possibly change to fat32 format if necessary.

• I tried to hook it up to my router, didn't work. Contacted Seagate and they said this item is definitely not be used for Network.
