this is plug n play, should be recognized under my computer. if its not, i suspect u have a bad drive. 2 obvious choices, plug into someone else computer and verify or return. very rare, but i have seen a bad cable before. you could try plugging it in and rebooting and see if it gets detected under startup. fyi, 3.0 is backwards compatible in most cp's. will read 2.0 unless its a 3.0 port - the speeds are DRASTICALLY different. 3.0 ports are typically blue.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The drive comes with a USB wire. I'm sure your hp desktop has a USB port...unless it's ancient. Simply plug it in. USB plugs only go in one way...If it wont go in...turn it over and try.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check to see if your computer needs to be updated to accept the 3.0 drive. Also check HP and Seagate to see if they have the drivers. Your system needs to be able to read USB 3.0
