• Yes, this is really easy to install on a Mac or PC. The drive has a software that you can use to set everything up OR you can literally just plug it in and start dragging files onto it. Pretty simple.

• Yes, for formatting the drive. But if you're using a Mac, just go to Applications>Utilities>Disc Utility and format the drive the way you want and you'll be ready to go in about 10 seconds. Super easy to use!

• Yes. It is easy to install. Best installation when you have an Internet connection to look for updates but not necessary. It is plug-n-play with firmware on the unit and an autoexec installation file.

• When you plug in the drive in you are prompted to install the included software if you want to use it. Other than that it's plug and play.
