Yes, this is really easy to install on a Mac or PC. The drive has a software that you can use to set everything up OR you can literally just plug it in and start dragging files onto it. Pretty simple.

Yes, for formatting the drive. But if you're using a Mac, just go to Applications>Utilities>Disc Utility and format the drive the way you want and you'll be ready to go in about 10 seconds. Super easy to use!

Yes. It is easy to install. Best installation when you have an Internet connection to look for updates but not necessary. It is plug-n-play with firmware on the unit and an autoexec installation file.
