Yes, The first thing I do when I buy one of these is to reformat it to get all the proprietary software off it. When you format it you have the option of creating as many partitions as you wish.

For example, the backup software may name the backup files using the computer name so that each computer can have its own backup on one drive. It really all depends on the backup software. The drive is just a place to store the backup files (or any other files you want to save there).

Windows Disk Manager can help you partition the drive, or if you want something fancier, look online for a product called EaseUS Partition Master. Their free version is outstanding and very reliable. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I imagine you'd be able to back them all up, and as long as each computer has a different name, there shouldn't be a problem. The backed up files are copied to the drive in a folder structure under your computer's name. I'm not sure if you'd be able to partition it, or not. If you're able to, you'd be able to set the backup software on each computer to back up to the specific drive, as you do have the option to select which drive to back up to.
