Typically the light shows activity. It will be solid when no data is being read or written to the drive and will flash based on the speed and amount of data being transferred.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.In general, rapid blinking on any drives indicates activity. A steady light is usually just indicating power and/or idle. Some drives will have a slow blink to indicate inactivity and/or sleep mode.
