It is possible the drive is no longer any good but 2 years is a short life span. I would hope it would last at least 4 years. Have you tried formating hard drive to see if that fixes your problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Have you tried using a different cable to connect?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well it could be a factor of several things. It could have a bad USB cable. It could also be internal issue. When plugged in, does it spin or make a spinning noise or feel. If it that disappeared, then that mean possibly the drive failure. Or it may have been formatted in another system needs formatted to work on your devices. It's hard to say, and it's probably suggested to just stop by a computer repair place, and have them plug it in to see if it will come up. They may or may not charge for this. I know I will not charge to look it up, but if it requires further diagnostics they may charge a small fee for diagnostics. If the data recovery is necessary then it will normally cost alot of money, but it depends on how much you must have your data or not. Remember do not always depend on an external device to save everything. Save on both desktop/laptop then external drive as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. At least you got 2 years out of it. I only got 3 months before it stopped talking. Store will replace it, but want $100 to extract all the data saved on it. What a waste of money. Sorry I have no answer to solving your problem.
