Can this external drive be set up to automatically back up from my laptop? Sorry if this has already been answered but I didn't see it. I just don't want to buy this and then not know how to use it!! Any information or suggestions are welcome. null

I really believe that si a function of the laptop you are wanting to back up. However, it has worked for me when I chose to backup to the external drive specifically.

It has built-in software that you use to set it up for automatic backups.

I believe you cannot setup to automatically backup.

You can use this as a backup drive. If you use an Apple computer you can use Time Machine to automatically backup your computer to the external drive whenever it is connected to your laptop. If you are on windows you can use Windows’ integrated backup solution with this external drive.
