No matter how good a hard drive, it never good to store important files on only one. It is always best two drives that have identical data. It's best to store them in locations that way if one is in a fire or a flood, your data is still safe on the other one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The usb connector is a microusb3 connector, so as long as you are careful plugging in and unplugging the cable with each use, they should be good. Also I should note that with these higher capacity laptop sized drives, they are less forgiving in almost every way. With careful use and being sure to eject the drive before disconnecting, they should give you a long life. If what you are storing is super important be sure to have a second backup just in case there are any problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your seagate drive should last a long time, but nothing last forever. If you have the files on you computer and the Seagate drive hopefully they will not quit at the same time. Of course another options is to save the files to a cloud like dropbox, onedrive or goog le photos as a precaution.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hard drives can last a long time even under daily use. If you are going to only be using once every couple months you should be pretty safe for years. In my experience drives will usually give you some sort of warning before they stop working completely. They will sometimes start making noises or just start working slower. If you suspect something is going wrong it probably is...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a 200GB external hard drive from 4 years ago and it still holds all my files that I've uploaded to it. I don't use it very frequently but all my information is still on it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should be safe. I've had mine hooked up to an xbox for over a year with no problems
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, as long as properly eject from your pc or lap top.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine crashed within a year several times. It’s a very delicate drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That shouldn't be a problem with this one. Just watch your storage level to be sure you have enough on it and don't have more files than space available. It should last as long as you don't put it in the sun or in a place too hot. This is a really great product, I have the same one and it works great for me. Best of Luck!
