• I've mostly used it in conjunction with my laptop, which has usb3.0. The writing rate has been variable at times, but has been about 60-80Mbps. For usb2.0, that'll translate to about 1/10th that speed.

• It has ports for both, so the port determines the transmission rate, I think.
