• This desktop hard drive works with any modern system that has a USB port. If you are asking if it will work without being plugged into an external power source, the answer is no. Desktop USB drives require an external power source. Only laptop USB drives function with power fed directly through the USB port.

• Yes, but I would recommend one that doesn’t need to be plugged into a power outlet. Save yourself some extra cables and run more wireless.
