Yes you have to plug it into the wall and in back of the Xbox to make it work or the light won't come on
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.When you plug the seagate into the power outlet no lights come on the seagate. You have to connect the cord into the back of the hard drive and the other end to the xbox which has to be powered on for the seagate to power on. If the connecting cord is not in the xbox and seagate at the same time the power will not be activated.
