Yes* - However, you won't be able to play Series S games off of the drive directly. You could use it as a way to keep games locally without needing to download them again from the internet. So you could start by installing the game on the internal SSD initially, then move it to this external when you're done playing or want more space--but when you want to play the game again, just move it from external back to internal. This should potentially save you time versus downloading the game over the internet again. - You can use it without a problem to play games from previous generation Xbox consoles (Xbox, 360, One).
