“I was told this would also work on the PS4 but my PS4 says it is unsupported and I get an error message when I try to format it. I've attached a pic of the error I get when I try to format it. Is there a way to make it work or will I have to return it?”

This is pre-formatted for X-Box. You need to plug it into a PC ...delete the Volume ..then create an active volume for PC ....then format it. Then plug it into PS4

Please try again later.These will not work on the PS4 because of the internal hub controller that isn't compatible with the PS4 firmware or something is what I was told from Sony. I bought this white one to replace a 4tb that I planned to use on the PS4 and had to find out the hard way the external hard drives with the hubs will not work at all. The said there is no plan at this time to make these type of units compatible either. Then I told them what I thought about it. I ended up buying a Toshiba 4tb external that is the 7200rpm model and don't require extra power supply. It seems to work okay. Good luck.
