• This model is made for a desktop model. It's the wrong size fit. You need the Seagate 500 GB Laptop-sized hard drive. That one will fill well in your Lenovo, and it should work with Windows 7. When installing Windows 7, it'll ask to format your new drive. Best of luck.

• If you have a usb port on your computer you should have no problem. I have Windows 7 on my laptop and it works great.
