This is an external drive meant to be connected via USB to a computer. It would work that way with your HP. Whether or not you can disassemble the external drive and make it work inside your HP depends on a lot of things, and may not be possible. In any event, I would recommend not trying that. Just take your HP to a store and ask them what you need to put inside it, if that is what you want to do.
