Q: QuestionWhy is my transfer rate so slow? This unit advertises up to 5gb. I'm only averaging about 15 mb. I have a dell inspiron 7348 and it is plugged into the usb 3.0 port. Thanks.

• A:Answer This is normal with SMR disks. They have buffer for a short write, but if the data doesn't fit, it fills up and the drive slows down so it can remap the data from the cache to the shingled zones. Some bigger (than 4TB) SMR disks have better management of SMR or just more platters so the speed does not drop lower than 10-15 MB/s

• A:Answer Hello Kate, Seagate External Hard Drives are tested for Windows and MacOs only, and some lines also for Gaming Consoles. The system requirements for a Seagate One Touch are: Windows 7 or higher, or Mac OS X 10.12 or higher operating system Since our drives are not tested for other devices we cannot assure that they will work. We suggest to contact the DISH Wally manufacturer and ask for compatibility hard drives list. Regards, Zac Seagate Support

Toolkit continous and scheduled back ups will only backup files that have been changed or modified since the last backup. Snapshot will do a full backup each time.
