“Had this bulb 2 months. Suddenly notice that if I get up in middle of the night, the light turns on when I walk into the room. I did not think they had motion detection. What is making it come on? When I tell Alexa to turn it on and off, it works great.”

You need to go into the Alexa App. Find the build and turn off the "routine." I had the same issue and this is what we had to. do.

As an example I am using all my WiFi bulbs with Google home app and created a routine “Away from home”, so Google nest detects if I am not at home it switches off all lights and on getting back to home it switches on all lights:) Same could be an arrangement with your Alexa?
