This LED strip is 12 feet long so considering you need less than 3 feet, I would advise against these. You can run this as 1 strip, but if you have a microwave that is also used as an overhead fan for your stove then I would advise against doing that. Purchase 2 separate strips. You can also check out the Lifx 40" LED strip.
