In Bluetooth mode, they provide fairly good range from your BT transmistter/PC. They favor treble frequency without a lot of bass, so they would be good for hearing lectures. Battery life is good. Charge mine about every 7-12 days with 1-2 hours of daily use (rated at 30 hours). If you use the included 3.5mm to 2.5mm audio cable, you don't have to worry about battery life. However, the audio cable connection (2.5mm) on the headphone side is a little funky ---bad contacts in the headphones. A lot of jiggling to make contact for left and right side. Fairly comfortable but they are "just over" the ear. Pretty good sealing out ambient sounds in the room. Have not noticed much difference between noise canceling on or off. (running Vacuum cleaner or kitchen exhaust fan) NOTE - NO Microphone so you need separate mic to participate in online conversations. If you don't have one on your WebCam or a stand-alone mic, and you need to participate in online conversations, then a USB headset with a boom mic might be a better choice.
