It is a fantastic studio and home headphone, but not particularly designed for portable use with the iPhone. If you had an iPhone adapter with a built-in mic, you could make this happen.

The iPhone simply routes the call through the 3.5mm jack that you plug your headphones or car audio input plug into. If you have the iPhone plugged into the car the sound passes through the car speakers but your voice still goes through the iPhone internal microphone. It works the same way with any headphones, no microphone is required. The iPhone does the music pause/switch audio to the call automatically.
