An Ipod or laptop are not going to utilize the drivers in these headphones! Try a relatively cheaper Senn, ie HD 205. They'll do the job (a little too much power for an Ipod, but you'll enjoy the sound). Also, Grado makes some good cans. If you want in-ear, try Shure brand. Good warranty; durable, and nice sound for in-ear.

They will work with an ipod/laptop as well.
