• Impedance is not a measure of how good a headphone is, but rather a measure of how much electrical resistance there is before the music gets to your ears. Portable devices with batteries have a finite amount of power to work with, so it is best that they are paired with low impedance headphones (the lower the ohms, the better the match). Higher impedance headphones are great for home audio listening or aircraft in-line entertainment consoles.
