Here are my results after a thorough but completely unscientific test under quiet living room conditions. I sat approximately 10 feet away from a new Sony 85 inch TV (with fiber optic hookup) and listened through my Sennheiser RS 175 headphones, and the TV, to 10 minutes of sharp noises (mostly gunshots at a private target range). If there was any sound delay at all it should have been quite easy to hear it. There was no delay that I could detect nor has there been during the 4 months that I've owned the headphones. For typical home viewing, the audio in the headphones matches the tv speakers (and the picture) beautifully. As a former announcer (not a degreed engineer though) I'm pretty picky about sound and these do sound great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no noticeable delay. These are an excellent choice for use with optical hookup. Used extensively by a person with low hearing to listen to tv at a higher volume than others in the room. Tried several different versions and these are the best choice. Worth the money. No need to worry about old Chinese movie effect with English dubbing.
