“I bought the Shark and found it doesn’t have buttons on the machine. I would like to keep it but worry I’ll lose the controller. Any ideas how I can make sure to keep the controller around for the life of the machine.”

I just leave it on the unit. I know it goes against the idea of a remote, but i just set it and forget it anyway. When I do want to change settings the remote part comes in handy so I don't have to get on my knees to read the unit, I can just pick up the remote and hold it where I can read it to change settings..
