“Can this machine clean a hardwood floor that has several 5x7 shag rugs laying on the hardwood floor in different areas of the large great room? Will it clean the rugs also, go around them or just stop? How will that work? thanks.”

We have hardwood floors and rugs, and it cleans everything very well! Not sure about shag though.
