• The unit has an on and off button, so there's no need to hold a trigger while operating it.

• Just push the button for on and then if you want more power it has a button for higher power, but I never use it because it comes on automatically and adjusts to the higher carpet... so great! When you get through hand it up and presto it empties all by itself... I clean the filter once a week or so .... so easy and convenient.
