“Is it possible to charge this without using the base? Or could the base be used with the vacuum laying down? (The only place I have to store/charge it is on a shelf that won't fit it in an upright position.)”

• You can remove the plug from the base and connect it directly, base is just accessory.

• Yes. I have mine sitting horizontally on a shelf. Just have to make sure you plug it firmly together and the light comes on.

• Gosh, I don't know, I would imagine it could work laying down. I know it's kind of awkard the way it sits UP in the base.
