QuestionCan this be left on the charging base when not in use without overcharging? No one at the local Best Buy could tell me.

- Answer Thanks to all who responded. I ended up calling Shark. They said it should NOT be left on the charger as it is a Ni-Cad battery and it will affect the life span. Following her suggestion, I ran the battery down, put it on the charger and timed how long it took to reach full charge. I bought a cheap indoor timer and set it to turn on for that amount of hours. That way I don't have to keep checking to see if it's charged and unplug it.

Questionhow long does the battery lastPurchase the Black and Decker and it doesn't hold charge the battery lasts maybe on a good day and this is a big maybe 15 minutes or so...

QuestionWith the Pet Pefect what is the edge cleaning tool or device?

- Answer It's basically a tapered tube that slides into the end. All attachments, (beater bar, edge tool, brush), slide in the same. It's not as long and narrow as the crevice tool that you normally see, so you can't get into deep areas like next to the driver's seat, but it works for me!

QuestionIs the bag inside washable? I empty it each time but the bag is really dirty. Seems like it would diminish the suction.

- Answer Hello, We would like to inform you that the filter inside the dust cup for the Shark® Bagless Cordless Hand Vac is washable. To wash the filter, rinse with water only. Allow the filter to air-dry completely for at least 24 hours before putting it back in the vacuum. We hope this information helps. The Customer Support Team

- Answer Battery costs almost the same as a new unit. if your unit is more than a couple years old, may as well get a new one and a new warranty that comes with it

QuestionHow do I change the filter??

- Answer Hello, We would like you to know that the filter can be accessed by removing the dust cup. We also want you to know that the filter is washable by rinsing it under warm tap water (no soap) until the water comes through clean. Once this is done, give them a light shake to get rid of any excess water, and then let them air dry for at least 24 hours. We recommend doing this once every 3 months. - Answer I’ve gone online and see that Keepow 5321F is supposed to be compatible with SV780. However, my model ends with the letter “N”. I got them but didn’t think of the last digit, or rather, last letter. When the supply arrived, I tried to put in a new refill. I couldn’t get the filter all the way down into the vacuum unit. I used to be able to get my replacements at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It was a different supply box, which I don’t have anymore. We don’t have B,B, & B anymore either. Last time I checked their website, I couldn’t find it. I saw them at another Filters place [Crucial?] but they were out of stock. Lowe’s used to sell them too but last time I was in the store, I couldn’t find them. Lowe’s rep said I might be able to get them online. They’re not big, like the washers, dryers, refrigerators, and a shelf load of vacuums. I don’t know why they can’t stock these small boxes of filters. I hope you have better luck searching.

QuestionMotorized brush on handheld unit does not spin under pressure, but spins well without pressure. Had it apart a few times to put belt back on motor. Very poor design. Vacuum works great, but threw the power head in the garbage.

QuestionVacuum comes on and goes off immediately.. Charger works, green light. Battery shows 18.+ volts on meter. There is good continuity at end of vacuum where brush would attach. The on and off happens with & without the dust canister with new filter.

- Answer Keep in mind you can re wash them. I hand wash mine and let it air dry.
