• There is a button on top of vacuum that you pull and it comes a part. You then take the filter out empty it. Put filter back in and put the two parts back together. This is a great vacuum cleaner.

• We are happy to assist you with your inquiry. To empty the dust cup, press down on the dust-cup release button and pull off the dust cup. Remove filter after taking dust cup off unit. Hold dust cup over a trash bin and dump out the debris.
