If by map grid you mean does it pull a grid of your floor plan on to the app for you to see? Then the answer is no. It maps your floor plan but it stores it in its AI logic rather than give you an actual map to look at. As long as you don't move your base station it will map your floor plan and become more uniform with its cleaning cycle.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Ruby, The Shark ION™ Robot is designed with Smart Sensor Technology so it can navigate around obstructions as it cleans your floors. By using an array of sensors, the Shark ION™ Robot will steer itself around your home, using walls and objects as its guide and gently bumping them. This method allows the robot to travel in and out of rooms and around obstacles. If your Shark ION™ Robot appears to be spending a lot of time in one spot, don't worry. Over time, its programming will help it cover the full area. Your robot might not hit every area in one cleaning, but by scheduling daily cleaning, you'll notice its cleaning path will differ with each run to ensure it is maintaining your floors. We hope this information helps. The Customer Support Team
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. The Shark Ion is the less complicated type of Robo Vac that uses the Billiard Ball Navigation method where it goes more or less in a straight line until it bumps into something. The "Map a Grid" type has advantages, but they are larger, more expensive and if the home's entire floor plan doesn't have really good Wi-Fi coverage, it can get lost an confused in a far back corner of the house. I have both types and they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe so it will repeat its steps over time but if you have things that move around in a room it will throw off the vaccume.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, goes in a random pattern, Works well for keeping things fairly clean, but for spot cleaning (spills and such) I would use the included stick vac or another regular vacuum.
