It comes with a BotBoundary strip that prevent the robot from navigating to areas that you don’t want it to, I am pretty sure that it can be used for that purpose.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My floor is flat..but if I want avoid any area. I use the magnetic strip..I love my robot..no more hard work.!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's my understanding that this model should prevent itself from tumbling down stairs or drop-offs on its own. I do not have any unlevel flooring to test this feature, but it does well to transition from stained concrete, wood, throw rugs and carpeted areas in our home. The unit does come with magnetic barrier strips that you cut to size so if you wanted to use that to "block the stairs" you could, but I don't think it's needed. The strips are more for blocking the unit from items such as the dog's water bowl, under furniture that it can't get back out from under or any other area you need it to avoid, etc. Hope this helps.
