• I don't use the power head option when cleaning more delicate rugs.

• For me, the suction was REALLY powerful on things that were not carpet. I accidentally ran it close to a low hanging dress and it took it right in. If your rug has loose pieces (fringe, etc), you may want to only use the hand attachment tools.
