• Yes it does turn on if the air quality goes down from 100 % clean and it is set on Auto, it will turn off automatically when it reaches 100 % clean air again.

• When in auto mode it works automatically. The numbers will drop down from 100 and as it cleans the air the numbers will climb back up to 100.
