If you have a continues smell, then yes. There's also a timer function that you can have it run for a certain amount of hours before it auto turns off.

Yes it has a automatic setting and when it detects any air borne pathogens it activates

Plug it in and slap the auto button and it'll do the rest. Check the side panels for cleaning from time to time and you should be golden.
