I bought the Shark NV681 Ermerald online at Best Buy. It listed the weight at 13.3 lbs. which seemed about right. It's easy to maneuver and is a compact machine. I don't know if it's the top of the line.

It does a better job on carpeting than the NV800 on carpet which is the main reason people buy a vacuum cleaner. The NV680 series (last number just describes included attachments) is quieter. The included hard floor tool does a great job on hard surfaces, but it is an extra part to store. The NV680 models are cheaper. The NV680 vacuum is about 13.2 pounds. It is also a smaller version of their top of the line NV752 vacuum. With the right attachments, the NV680 models are excellent all purpose vacuums on the higher end of Shark products.
