Does it work well on area rugs null

I have used this vacuum on area rugs as well as smaller rugs located near doorways. It does a good job with the area rug but may need to hold down smaller rugs as this vacuum has a lot of suction and power which can cause the rug to rise while vacuuming. It does clean rugs thoroughly.
