“i have owned my vacmop for only a few months. now, when charging, the red light illuminagtes for 5 seconds, then goes dark, and the mop does not charge. how could the battery already be dead? it's been used about 10 times total.”

I would contact Shark customer service directly. There's a 1 year manufactures warranty on it and Shark has never let me down. Also if you bought the extended warranty through Best Buy than your covered. It could have a defect.
