Re: Sharp 1.1 cu ft 1000W Countertop microwave - Yes, there is a light that comes on in both instances. However, because the light is partially hidden behind the interior surface panel, the illumination could have been better just by relocating that light or providing a few more panel openings for light to come through. The fact that the interior cavity is dark grey doesn't help, but the illumination is adequate, just not what you're used to if you've owned a white-interior unit.
